Utah is a top destination for outdoorsy folks with unlimited activities like hiking, cycling, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, fishing, and off-roading to keep you busy, rain or shine. Following are some tips to help you prepare for your outdoor exploits courtesy of the folks at
Lofty Peaks Adventures LLC.
Be Prepared
If you’re planning on taking part in a
guided tour or activity, book ahead to reserve your spot. For those venturing out on their own, having a plan, a GPS, and maps for more remote expeditions is a good idea. You may also want to have a small first aid kit and rescue aid with you.
Clothing and Footwear
Dress appropriately for the activity. For example, hiking sandals may be ok for an easy forest walk, but you’ll need sturdy, closed-toe shoes when you head out to the backcountry on an
ATV rental. Dressing in thin layers, even in hot weather, is a good idea, and having a hat and rain gear in your backpack is essential.
Food and Water
It can get hot
in the boat, on the trail, on the rocks, and in the dunes. Make sure you’re well hydrated, and bring extra water or hydration packets. You’ll also want to pack some light snacks like trail mix or protein bars to tide you over until you get back to camp or into town for some local fare.
If your adventures in Utah include heading out on the trails or dunes on an ATV or side-by-side RZR, contact the friendly staff at Lofty Peaks. We can help you
make a reservation to take one of our four-wheelers out on the local trails in the Wasatch Mountains or set you up with a
towable trailer so you can visit your favorite spots.
Don’t miss out on amazing summer adventures; there’s still plenty of time to take advantage of summer in Utah!
