This cozy little town is located at the base of the stunning Wasatch Mountains, making for some of the absolute best skiing in Utah. There are eight ski resorts within 45 miles of Sandy, including the famous Snowbird Ski Resort, which offers snowmobile rentals and snowmobile tours.

There’s also the outstanding Rio Tinto Stadium, a magnificent 25,000-seat stadium which hosts soccer and a variety of concerts and other sports events. The Rio Tinto Stadium is a family favorite. The Sandy Amphitheater also hosts concerts, as well as arts events, traveling acts, local favorites, and other productions. There’s always something going on at the South Towne Expo Center, such as the Festival of Trees, the Asian Fair, the international auto show, boat shows, and tons more. If soaking up local culture interests you, the Sandy Museum tells visitors all about the Mormon/mining history of the town. Sandy also boasts a wide variety of picturesque hiking trails.
